Harpur Wealth is Seeking Technical Expertise in Pensions & Investments
At Harpur Wealth Management we work on the basis that expert financial advice is built on personal connection. Based in Bedford town centre, we are a fairly small team comprising 3 advisors and support staff. We specialise in creating holistic financial plans that match the lives and circumstances of our clients, optimising their wealth across investments, pensions, and ISAs. We’re now looking to expand our para-planning team to two, by adding an experienced professional to help us deliver our client-focused work.
The role of a paraplanner has become central to the wealth management sector. Following any client review or recommendation, a report is required, providing the technical knowledge that underpins our financial advice. As a para-planner, you are the technical support for the financial adviser, sitting between them and our admin team to ensure an orderly and compliant process.
A Role for the Technical Expert – Variety, Challenge, and Growth
This paraplanner role is an opportunity for a technical specialist, holding at least the Diploma in Financial Planning, to apply their expertise across a wide variety of interesting cases. Your primary responsibility will be creating the reports that form the backbone of our advice.
The role is also about the future. Harpur Wealth Management is at a point where we’re ready to evolve how we present our advice. We want to fully integrate services like cashflow modelling and estate planning into our core processes.
For this to succeed, the workflow needs to be driven by your initiative, and that’s where your commercial aptitude will come into its own. You will have the autonomy to help us build a better, more efficient system, working alongside our junior para-planner to drive our reporting services forward.
Are You the Confident Professional We’re Looking For?
In a small, dynamic firm like ours, your individual contribution really matters. We’re looking for a confident and outgoing professional who is prepared to voice their opinion. As a close-knit team we encourage the ability to challenge others when necessary, because we understand that it’s about collaborating to find the best possible solution for our clients.
Ideally, we would want you to be comfortable in a client-facing role, as we value giving our para-planners first-hand experience of client discussions. While not obligatory, we do have a preference for candidates from the Bedford, Milton Keynes, Cambridge, or Northampton areas. Our reasoning is simple – we are looking for a long-term commitment, and a sustainable commute is part of that. Being local also helps in building stronger connections with our local contacts and clients.
If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, we would be delighted to hear from you. For a more detailed job description or an informal chat to ask any questions you may have, please contact us here, or call our team on 01234 924620.
